Luxembourg-based Nigerian artist Uyi Nosa-Odia, aka UNO, has recently donated artworks worth over 40.000 EUR to Lëtz Art ASBL, which is dedicated to socio-economic integration and cultural diversity.
The former President of the organisation recently handed over the leadership to Liane Felten and took up the mantle as General Director in order to manage and implement the projects Lëtz Art will be launching from September 2024.
‘As the General Director, I can take a more hands-on approach to the implementation of our projects, such as finding funding, both institutional and private, to help us operate efficiently as a non-profit organisation.’ (Uyi Nosa-Odia)
So far, Lëtz Art has secured funding from government bodies such as the Ministry of Economy and other non-profit organisations such as Touchpoints ASBL. A partnership with the House of Entrepreneurship has also been secured in support of the socio-economic development and integration project ‘TRICOT’.
‘While we are grateful for the support received so far, in all honesty, it is simply not enough. So I decided to donate some of my artworks to Lëtz Art ASBL and make them available for sale. The proceeds can thus be used towards the implementation of the upcoming projects.’ UNO
In effect, UNO has donated 5 of his personal paintings, which have a combined estimated value of 30.000 EUR, as well 14 paintings of ‘Tableaux de Fusion’ (a social art project for Esch2022), at a combined estimated value of 15.000 EUR.
‘We are touched by UNO’s donation. We see it as a huge help in bolstering our budget to implement our projects, one of which is scheduled to get off the ground already by September 2024. The challenge is to find adequate buyers for these paintings, but we are optimistic that most, if not all of these beautiful artworks will soon find new homes.’ (Liane Felten, President of Lëtz Art)
So far, Ville d'Esch-sur-Alzette has acquired the ‘Tableaux de Fusion’ painting that represents Esch-sur-Alzette. The painting representing Latvia has been bought by the Honorary Consulate of the same country, represented by Dr Henri Diederich.

Alongside various communes and embassies, we have also contacted various Luxembourgish Ministries in our effort to find new homes for the donated paintings. While we await more responses, we remain positive that new homes will soon be found for the artworks and that the proceeds will make a valuable difference in the implementation of the organisation's projects.
